1) Andre Russell- 40 ball 100
Andre Russell, a West Indian great, led the Jamaica Tallawahs to a 4-wicket victory over the Trinbago Knight Riders, the former Caribbean Premier League champions, at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain in 2018. Russell’s first match as captain was a blast, as he blasted his way to a 40-ball century before taking a hat-trick at the tail end of the Knight Riders’ innings. In reply to Trinbago Knight Riders’ CPL all-time highest record score of 223/6 in the first innings, half of the Jamaica Tallawahs’ team was bundled up at 41 for 5. Russell, on the other hand, came in with his absolutely fantastic form at that point. Russell appeared unstoppable, leaving no bowlers in his wake despite favoring the leg-side but also blasting off-spinners and fast bowlers equally down the ground. Russell was a force of energy that enabled the Tallawahs to move into the battle zone. With a record-breaking 12th sixer, his century came up right at the 40th ball. Russell’s ultimate score was 121 not out from 49 balls, with six fours to go with those 13 maximums, making him the first player in our top five players to record the quickest century in CPL history.
