Can MI Turn the Tables on RR?

The Rajasthan Royals will take on the Mumbai Indians at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday in an attempt to extend their winning streak in IPL 2024.

The Mumbai Indians, led by Hardik Pandya, will try to take revenge on the Rajasthan Royals in their next IPL game on Monday, the 2024 season. When Mumbai took on Sanju Samson and company in MI’s home, the Rajasthan Royals bowlers completely stunned the former champs. Pandya had a difficult time returning home at the Wankhede Stadium thanks to former MI pacer Trent Boult, who triggered a batting collapse of the Mumbai Paltan.

To maintain its hopes of qualifying for the playoffs, it’s a must-win game for MI.

The Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals have a history of fierce competition in the Indian Premier League. Mumbai Indians have won 15 of their 29 matches against Rajasthan. There was an undecided result in one match. There are head-to-head records against these teams.

The recent match between MI and RR was extremely intense! The last four games have been evenly matched, with neither side taking the lead. In reality, Rajasthan won the first clash between the teams this season at Wankhede Stadium on 1 April. Restricted Mumbai to a miserable 125 by their powerful bowling attack, which made it easy for the Royals to chase down the top order. This intense rivalry increases the excitement for tonight’s game!

As RR held MI to a poor total of 125-9 in 20 overs, Boult handed golden ducks to Rohit Sharma and Naman Dhir. Mumbai Indians were easily defeated by RR by six wickets due to Riyan Parag’s undefeated 54 from 39 balls. However, following a disappointing start to the new season, the Mumbai Indians have recovered. After winning 3 of their previous 4 matches, Hardik and his squad have landed in Jaipur.

The Mumbai Indians are on seventh position on the points table. In their previous match, MI defeated Punjab Kings. Jasprit Bumrah, the current Purple Cap holder, is also a member of the Mumbai Indians roster. During the IPL 2024, Gerald Coetzee of South Africa and speedster Bumrah have combined to take 25 wickets. 12 wickets have been taken by Coetzee.

Four games were played in 2024 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, home of RR. Samson’s RR team has scored 193, 185, and 196 while batting first in three home games in the IPL 2024. Thus, it is expected that RR and MI will compete in a high-scoring contest in Jaipur today. At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, no team has reached the 200-point record.
