CPL 2022: Third win for Jamaica Tallawahs

Jamaica Tallawahs registered their third win of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022, beating Trinbago Knight Riders by 34 runs.

Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and fielded first, a decision that worked in their favour early on as Ravi Rampaul removed openers Brandon King and Kennar Lewis. But despite losing wickets, skipper Rovman Powell lifted his team by hammering ten boundaries during his knock of 67 as Tallawahs reached 153/7 after 20 overs.

Powell and Raymon Reifer put up a 90-run stand to help their side recover. Veteran Sunil Narine bowled an excellent spell, taking the wickets of Powell and Fabian Allen to slow down the scoring in the death overs.

Chasing 154, Trinbago Knight Riders lost the wickets of Sunil Narine and Tion Webster early. The Knight Riders from the Caribbean were unable to come up with any significant partnerships nor big hits, as they were stranded at 119/8, losing the match by 34 runs.

Trinbago Knight Riders decided to promote Narine to the top of the order. But he was unable to create an impact, and was cleaned up by Amir in the first over. Webster was then run-out, before Colin Munro and Tim Seifert came together but both batters were also soon dismissed.

Amir removed Nicholas Pooran while Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell were also out soon. In the end, they only managed 119/8, losing by 34 runs as Tallawahs won their third straight CPL 2022 match.
