Liverpool will be looking to consolidate their position at the top of the Premier League table when they welcome West Brom to Anfield on Sunday. A 2-1 win over Tottenham followed by the 7-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace in their two games prior to Christmas mean Jurgen Klopp’s men are in first place as they continue the defence of their title.

Liverpool’s 7-0 victory at Selhurst Park was not only their joint-biggest win under Jurgen Klopp, it represented a ruthlessness in front of goal that saw them score with all but one of their eight shots on target. It was also the eighth time this season that the opening goal in a Reds fixture came in the opening quarter of the game, with Klopp’s men netting first on five of those occasions. They will fancy their chances of extending that tally against a West Brom side that has conceded the second-most goals in the league this season, shipping 29 so far, with four of their last five games all having seen a goal inside the first 22 minutes.
