Zomato Blunder: Navratri Customer Receives Non-Veg Instead of Veg Momos

Zomato, a famous meal delivery website, made a mistake and sent non-veg momos instead of veg momos to one of its clients during Navratri, causing them hurt. On Monday, a customer expressed dissatisfaction after receiving non-vegetarian momos instead of the vegetarian dish they ordered on Zomato. They criticized the online delivery platform for sending them a meat item during Navratri.

Akash Gupta shared photos showcasing the food packet he received, tagging Zomato on X. The images depicted the sealed food packet with a tape labeled “non-veg.” Additionally, he posted a screenshot of his order, revealing his request for vegetarian pan-fried momo, veg moburg, and a soft drink from a renowned momo establishment.
The issue became worse by the fact that the delivery mix-up occurred during the Hindu festival of Navratri, when many people avoided eating non-vegetarian meals.

“Hello @Wowmomo4u, @zomatocare @zomato, I’m purely vegetarian and I ordered veg things. But I got all non veg items from your outlet, and the bad thing is Navratri going on. How you can make this big mistake!” Gupta posted along with the picture of food he ordered.

The post rapidly went viral, sparking an immediate response from Zomato and Wow! Momo. Zomato recognised the “big mix-up” and urged Akash to provide his order information so that the problem could be resolved as soon as possible.

As the post went viral , Zomato promised to resolve the complaint. “Hi Akash, this is one big mix-up. It’s very serious and certainly not what we stand for. Mind sharing the order ID via DM so that we can resolve it ASAP,” the company wrote.

Wow! Momo also came in, expressing her heartfelt apologies and requested that Gupta submit his invoice and contact information so they could contact him immediately.
“Dear Akash! We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. We would never want something like this to happen. Requesting you to please share your invoice and contact details at [email protected] so that we can get in touch with you,” they wrote.

Last year, Jodhpur’s District Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum penalized Zomato and fast food giant McDonald’s Rs 1 lakh for providing non-vegetarian meals to a client who had ordered vegetarian food.
