The arrested suspect, identified as Prince Kumar Sinha, aged 29, allegedly attempted to defraud Ms. Anandani. However, thanks to her quick thinking, she managed to avoid becoming a victim of the fraud.

Mumbai: The Juhu Police Station in Mumbai has detained a person for trying to deceive Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s production house by falsely offering employment. This scheme was part of an attempt to defraud social media influencer Pooja Anandani.

The individual arrested, identified as Prince Kumar Sinha, 29, allegedly made fraudulent attempts to deceive Ms. Anandani. However, due to her quick thinking, she managed to avoid falling victim to the fraud.

A Juhu Police official described the sequence of events, revealing that the accused initially contacted Ms Anandani, introducing himself as ‘Rohan Mehra,’ a putative employee of Akshay Kumar’s production business, Cape of Good Films.

Despite not having any association with the production house, the accused lured Ms. Anandani with a job offer, claiming to be part of a film project based on the Nirbhaya case. He invited her to meet in Juhu under false pretenses.

Their first encounter occurred at a local coffee shop, where he allegedly asked Ms. Anandani to pose for photographs with a photographer who claimed to be affiliated with Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan.

Afterward, they agreed to meet once more at the JW Marriott hotel in Juhu. However, Ms. Anandani had already informed the police about the situation beforehand.

Promptly, officers intervened and arrested Prince at the prearranged meeting point, ensuring the safety of Ms. Anandani and preventing any further fraudulent activities.

According to information from the Juhu Police, on April 3, the accused contacted Ms. Anandani using his mobile phone under the alias Rohan Mehra. He falsely presented himself as an employee of Cape of Good Films.

However, investigations revealed that no individual by that name worked at the production house. Upon discovering the deception, Ms. Anandani promptly notified the production house, confirming the fraudster’s deceit.

In response, Ms. Anandani filed a complaint with the nearby Juhu Police Station, leading to the registration of a case against the perpetrator and his subsequent arrest.

The incident underscores the prevalence of fraudulent activities in the entertainment industry and highlights the importance of remaining vigilant against such schemes.

The  Juhu Police commend Ms. Anandani’s astuteness, which thwarted a potential scam. Investigations into the matter are ongoing, with authorities urging individuals to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of offers before committing to them.
