IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians gathered in Alibaug for a team bonding session, yet Rohit Sharma is missing from the arrival videos.

Rohit Sharma was not seen with the Mumbai Indians team that traveled to Alibaug for a pre-season team bonding exercise ahead of the start of the IPL 2024.

People were curious about where Rohit was. Some thought maybe he had other plans or couldn’t make it for some reason. Jasprit Bumrah and some young players were also missing, but they might have had different reasons.

Before the start of the 2024 Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians players spent some quality time together as part of a team bonding activity. The cricketers and support staff arrived in Alibaug on Tuesday and are likely to spend the next few days there before returning to Mumbai, where they will fly to Ahmedabad to play the season’s first match against 2022 champions Gujarat Titans.

While practically everyone from the MI camp took the ship to Alibaug, former captain Rohit Sharma was not on the list. Rohit was not seen when the rest of his teammates deboarded the ferry on the dock, and he was also not seen as everyone checked into the hotel.

According to Indinews, While Rohit may or may not have been present, the videos suggest he did not go with the squad. In one of the videos, the ship is seen leaving Mumbai Harbour with the renowned Gateway of India in the background, and Rohit wasn’t present. Jasprit Bumrah was another notable absence from the group of players, however it is possible that he has yet to rejoin the team following the rigorous Test series against England. Young batters Tilak Verma and Dewald Brevis were also missing from the footage. The duo had been practicing at the pre-season camp

Captain Hardik Pandya, wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan, Australia’s big hitter Tim David, West Indian quick Romario Shepherd, Arjun Tendulkar, and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi were among the notable attendees. Coach Mark Boucher accompanied Hardik and his team, as also bowling coach Lasith Malinga and batting coach Kieron Pollard. Upon arrival, the players slept, relaxed, and played a round of paintball.

Rohit joined the team a few days ago at the Wankhede, when he went through his first batting workout. The former skipper posted photos of himself hitting in the nets, including one in black and white, but did not include a caption. Rohit looked in excellent form, playing his trademark pull shot as well as some stunning drives and cuts.
