Before the T20 World Cup, Bangladesh’s technical director Sridharan Sriram hasn’t decided on an opening partnership and wants to be flexible with his alternatives at the top of the order.

In the most recent tri-series in New Zealand, the Tigers used four different lineups at one and two. Despite the recent years’ repeated tweaking with the opening slots in the shortest format, Sriram claimed that the configuration was clear.
“The captain, myself, and the director are all on the same page, in my opinion, since we are extremely clear about the best team we want to play.
“We know exactly which combos we want. I believe we have two to three combinations in mind, which we may change and adapt depending on the circumstances of the day.”
According to the opposition and the playing conditions on any given day, the former all-rounder for India also said that Bangladesh will continue to change the players at the top of the order during the T20 World Cup. Despite Bangladesh’s lack of success in the New Zealand tri-series, Sriram was confident that his squad would find its form during the World Cup.
“While you see it as experiments, we see it as various combinations. When you put your players in various scenarios and observe how each one of them reacts, you can learn more about them. I believe we have gained a lot of knowledge. We’re extremely clear about the lineups we use while playing other teams, “said he.
“I believe that everything needs to work out for Bangladesh to win the game; it’s not only about one spot (opening). It’s not just about the pace bowlers or the opening position. It concerns the whole squad.”

Potential team modifications for the T20 World Cup?
Soumya Sarkar and Shoriful Islam continue to compete for a position on the side traveling to Australia after giving Bangladesh a good selection headache. Sriram confirmed what the Bangladesh pace bowling coach had recently said about likely roster adjustments before the cutoff date.
