Vikash & Meetu both scored Super 10s in an exciting thriller in which Haryana had a 12-point lead at half-time, to only trailing by 3 points in the dying moments of the match. This was possible due to a 19-point performance from Giants’s raider Rakesh Sungroya. However, Haryana Steelers kept their nerves while raiding in the final minutes to seal the win.

Haryana Steelers were the dominant force in the first half, inflicting two All Outs. Vikash Khandola with his usual quick-feet movement was in a sublime form and took Gujarat’s defenders at will. Gujarat Giants, despite having some big names, had no answers for Khandola as his two-point raid in the seventh minute of the match inflicted the first All Out of the match, on Gujarat Giants.

Youngster Meetu stepped up for Steelers as well, targeting opposition captain Sunil Kumar for points. With six minutes to go in the first half, Haryana inflicted another All-Out, extending the score difference to 12, raising questions on Gujarat’s defensive strategy. The first half ended with the scoreline reading 22-10 in favour of the Steelers, as defenders Jaideep & Surender Nada also picked up two tackle points.

Gujarat Gianst were a revamped side in the second half with a different attitude. The first four points of the second half belonged to the Giants with the help of raider Rakesh. Haryana’s Esmael managed to delay an All Out with a Super Tackle and a raid point but the Giants finally managed it in the eighth minute. Rakesh completed his Super 10 and reduced Haryana’s lead to mere 5 points. Rakesh helped Gujarat Giants to keep putting pressure on the Steelers’ defence, who eventually started leaking easy points.

Gujarat inflicted their second All-Out and were in lead with under four minutes to go on the clock. Meetu then scored a 3 points Super Raid with two minutes to go to level the score. Vikash Khandola hereon kept his nerves in check which helped Haryana Steelers win the match.
