Vijay Malik supported the winning cause with nine points while Sandeep Narwal was seen playing the role of an all-rounder, bagging eight points which helped Delhi register the win and move to the first spot on the points table. Patna Pirates seemed lagging in their defence which ultimately ended up in a defeat for them.

Patna were dominant in the starting minutes of the match but Delhi managed to make a comeback with the aid of their raider Vijay Malik. He registered crucial points which exploited the unstable Patna defence and helped Delhi inflict their first all-out in the 10th minute to extend a 4-point lead. Sandeep Narwal and Manjeet Chillar used their valuable experience as Delhi defence baffled Pirates.

Patna Pirates’ cover defender Sajin C suffered a knee injury and was replaced which further destabilized the team balance and morale. On the other hand, Sandeep Narwal was seen performing as a perfect all-rounder for Delhi, scoring raid points as well. At half time, Delhi were ahead by 19-10.

Pirates however made their way back into the game in the first 10 minutes after halftime and proved why they were regarded as the early favourites for the playoffs. Patna raiders Sachin Tanwar and Guman Singh exploited the Delhi defence during this time.

Delhi felt the lack of a lethal raider and finally, an all-out was inflicted upon them in the 10th minute after halftime. Pirates had brought the lead down to 1 point and were moving ahead with momentum.

Dabang Delhi K.C. however had different plans and didn’t let this lead slip, as Sandeep Narwal scored 2 points in a raid and extended the lead to 3 points as both teams continued to fight it out.

Mohammadreza Sahadloui then struck for Pirates with a strong ankle hold on Ashu Malik.

Vijay Malik then executed a 3-point Super Raid with three minutes to go on the clock to put Delhi four points ahead. Patna required two points in their last raid to equal the score, but Manjeet Chillar produced a superb diving tackle to take Delhi to victory and top of the points table.
