It was a tough draw to swallow after an intense 90 minutes. Chennaiyin will feel like they squandered big chances to win this game and make it two in two to the new season.

End-to-end football was on display throughout the first half as there was very little to separate the two teams. While Kerala Blasters had more possession of the ball, Chennaiyin created more chances.

The second half witnessed a lot of intensity as both sides created goal-scoring opportunities but failed to convert. Chennaiyin FC missed a penalty as the Southern derby ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

Jakub Sylvestr’s penalty kick was saved by Albino Gomes and Chennaiyn FC miss a golden chance to take a lead over Kerala Blasters. An entertaining play from both Chennaiyin FC and Kerala Blasters but no goals to show. Bakary Kone denies Chennaiyin FC after Kerala Blasters’ goalkeeper Albino Gomes lost the ball in the box trying to do too much with it.

Chennaiyin FC had the first big chance of the match with Anirudh Thapa shooting just wide off the post.

Blasters now have two points from three matches. Some positives from the last two games but they aren’t enough for that elusive win. Blasters move to seventh on the table, while Chennaiyin jumps to third.
