Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan, who is also considered as the deadliest spinner of Indian Premier League (IPL), started his career in the tournament in 2017 after he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for Rs 4 crores.
In his opening season, Rashid scalped 17 wickets in 14 matches, at an average of 21.05 and an economy of 6.62. He finished the season as the sixth highest wicket-taker.
In 2018, Rashid was brought back by SRH for Rs 9 crores. He showed his blistering form and took 21 wickets in 17 matches, at an average of 21.80 and an economy of 6.73. He ended up as the second highest wicket-taker of the season.
In 2019, the spinner had 17 wickets to his name in just 15 matches, with an average of 22.17 and an economy of 6.28. He finished the season as the ninth highest wicket-taker in that season.
In IPL 2020, Rashid scalped 20 wickets in 16 matches and 18 wickets in 2021. For IPL 2022, he was released by SRH and got drafted by the new IPL franchise Gujarat Titans for Rs 15 crore.
In his entire IPL career, he has played a total of 76 matches and scalped 93 wickets. His overall average is 20.55 with an economy of 6.33.
