The South African great smacked 133* runs off 59 balls with 19 fours and 4 sixes, while the former Indian captain Virat Kohli scored 82 runs off 50 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes.

RCB’s numbers 17 and 18 are back at work again. The top two positions in this list of top 3 highest partnerships are held by Virat Kohli & AB de Villiers. Being put in to bat first in the 44th match of the IPL 2016, Bangalore lost explosive opener, Chris Gayle, in the 4th over at a score of 9. However, Virat Kohli was joined by AB de Villiers in the middle and together these two added 229 runs in just 97 balls. Captain Virat Kohli scored 109 runs in 55 balls with 5 fours and 8 sixes and was dismissed on the penultimate ball of the last over, while AB de Villiers scored an unbeaten 129 runs in 52 balls with 10 fours and 12 sixes. RCB posted 248/3 in 20 overs and restricted Gujarat Lions to 104 in 18.4 overs as Chris Jordan picked up 4 wickets while mastermind spinner Yuzvendra Chahal managed 3 wickets.
