Puneri Paltan’s Mojhit Goyat clinched his PKL career’s maiden Super 10, backed by Aslam Inamdar’s 8 points helped Paltan to move away from the bottom of the table.

Gujarat Giants’ coach Manpreet Singh would be disappointed with his team’s defence which failed to perform yet again. Ajay Kumar (10 Points) and Rakesh Sungroya (8 points) tried their best to put up a fight but Giants’ defence was just not compliant enough.

Before the match started, this was supposed to be a fight between Puneri Paltan’s young raiding unit and Gujarat’s experienced defence. The former started well in the match, with Mohit Goyat being particularly brilliant. Aslam Inamdar and Vishwas supported the raider aptly as Pune inflicted the first all-out on Gujarat within the starting 10 minutes.

Gujarat’s left corner Girish Ernak spent most time off the mat while right corner Ravinder Pahal suffered a knee injury while making a tackle. Hadi Oshtorak was brought in as a substitution for Ravinder Pahal but he didn’t get an opportunity to settle due to Mohit Goyat’s impressive raiding. The Pune raider registered 8 points in the first half and ended the half with the scoreline reading 19-13 in favour of Puneri Paltan. On the other side of the mat, Rakesh scored 7 points to keep his team alive in the contest.

Puneri Paltan however retained their intensity in the second half as they inflicted another all out within the first five minutes of the second half.

Gujarat’s experienced defenders failed to match the intensity of the young Pune raiders. Aslam Inamdar

and Vishwas contributed with successful tackles as well, and the all-rounders helped Pune maintain a 5-point lead with ten minutes to go on the clock.

Ajay Kumar completed his Super 10 for Gujarat Giants but Puneri Paltan was scoring points consistently and at ease with Aslam Inamdar shining. Pune had an 8-point lead with 5 minutes to go on the clock. Parvesh Bhainswal executed two Super Tackles in the dying minutes of the match for Gujarat Giants but in the end, the lead proved too much for Gujarat to cover up.

Top Performers:
