Gujarat Giants vs Dabang Delhi KC (24-24)

Gujarat Giants and Dabang Delhi KC played out a draw in the 13th match of the Pro Kabaddi League season 8. Giants’ Ravinder Pahal made a blunder in the last minute due to which Delhi’s ‘Naveen Express’ secured a raid point that resulted in a 24-24 tie.

Delhi’s start rider – Naveen Kumar once again secured a Super 10, his third consecutive Super 10 this season and 24th consecutive Super 10 overall in Pro Kabaddi League. However, Dabang Delhi KC would feel themselves to be lucky to get through with a tie, as the rest of the defence was filled with mistakes.

Gujarat Giants’ Rakesh Narwal & Sangroya picked up easy points while facing the Dabang Delhi KC defence. Dabang Delhi KC started with experienced senior defenders – Ajay Thakur & Manjeet Chillar, despite minimal contributions from them in the past two matches.

Delhi’s ‘Naveen Express’ ensured that Gujarat Giants didn’t open up any lead, registering 3 points to his name in his first three raids, sending Gujarat’s covers – Girish Ernak & Ravinder Pahal to the dugout.

Rakesh Narwal’s executed a perfect kick to give Gujarat Giants a one-point going into the last raid of the match. However, Ravinder Pahal went in for an early thigh hold on Naveen Kumar, who escaped with a point handing Delhi a tie.

Top Performers:

  • Best Defender – Sunil Kumar (Gujarat Giants) 4 Tackle Points

Bengaluru Bulls vs Bengal Warriors (36-35)

In the 14th match of the Pro Kabaddi League season 8, Bangaluru Bulls defeated defending champions Bengal Warriors by 36-35 in a close-fought match. Bengaluru’s Pawan Kumar Sehrawat’s tremendous 15 points and a two-point raid in the last minute by South Korean Dong-Geon Lee won the match for Bengaluru Bulls.

The defending champions Bengal Warriors have only themselves to blame as their skipper Maninder Singh provided a good start, and went on to score 17 points. The defender Abozar Mighani’s mistakes were, however, were a tad bit difficult to apply ‘damage control’.

Bengal raider Maninder Singh and Bengaluru raider Pawan Sehrawat ensured an entertaining match for the audience, particularly in the high-scoring first half where the Bulls matched Warriors blow for blow.

Bengal’s Iranian all-rounder, Mohammad Nabibakhsh led the team’s charge as another all-out was inflicted upon the Bengaluru Bulls team, reducing the lead to one point (31-30). However, Bulls’ coach, Randhir Singh Sehrawat proved his ‘best in the business’ stature as he brought on Dong-Geon Lee on the court. The South Korean in turn produced a 2-point raid, going after Bengal’s right corner. The Warriors could only manage 1 point in the last raid and lost the match by the barest of margins.
