ISL Preview: Odisha vs North East Utd

With only a point in their kitty from six games, Odisha FC will be desperate to turn their fortunes around when they face NorthEast United in the Indian Super League here on Tuesday.

NorthEast United FC have been excellent in this season so far.

The Highlanders come into the game as favourites. Gerard Nus’ men haven’t lost any of their last 10 away games and will be looking to get all three points against a side that has lost three in a row at home.

Stuart Baxter’s side haven’t scored in two of their three home matches this season which makes winning against a resolute NorthEast side an even more uphill task. They have also conceded 7 goals in the first half this season, indicating a soft underbelly which the Highlanders will look to exploit.

. Head coach Stuart Baxter described his team as being “architects of its downfall.” In the pre-match press conference, he added, “At the end of the day, I think it’s a lack of focus that results in the performance going down. So, as long as we can keep our focus at the right level, we can keep on improving.”

It will be an interesting match-up between two teams, which like to hold their shape in defence and hit on the break.
