AAP Leader Alleges BJP’s Plot to Arrest Key Figures, BJP Denies Accusations

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is allegedly trying to arrest four prominent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) officials within the next two months, according to Delhi Minister Atishi. Atishi claimed that someone with ties to the BJP had contacted her and offered for her to join the ruling party in an effort to salvage her political career. She threatened to be arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in less than a month if she refused to join the BJP.

According to Atishi, the BJP wants to imprison the AAP’s leaders in order to stifle the party. She said the BJP planned to arrest her, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Raghav Chadha, and Durgesh Pathak, four more AAP leaders, following the recent detention of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and others.

It is purported that subsequent action against AAP leaders was prompted by the BJP’s failure to achieve their expectation of the AAP disintegrating following Kejriwal’s detention. Atishi confirmed that she and her colleagues would not heed the BJP’s threats, even if she had learned that the ED may conduct searches on her and her relatives’ residences in the near future.

Atishi brought up the ED’s statement in court, stating that Kejriwal had mentioned that Vijay Nair, the AAP’s previous chief of communications, reported to her and Bharadwaj. She surmised that the AAP leadership’s second tier might be the focus of this material.

The BJP responded by calling Atishi’s claims unfounded and speculating about internal AAP strife. AAP is allegedly fighting for the position of chief minister, according to BJP leader RP Singh and insinuated a divide within the party.

Following Kejriwal’s detention in a money laundering case involving Delhi’s former liquor policy, a series of heated discussions between AAP and BJP leaders have taken place, with these accusations and counter-allegations being the most recent. Kejriwal was moved to the Tihar jail in Delhi and placed under judicial custody till April 15th, as per the ED’s claim that he did not cooperate with the probe.

The continuing alteration highlights Delhi’s growing political rivalry between the AAP and BJP. Although AAP claims that BJP is targeting its leaders using central agencies, BJP brushes off these claims as part of AAP’s internal power struggles.

There is still tension in Delhi’s politics as the two sides argue verbally. Even though the AAP is facing legal issues, it is not backing down from what it sees as attempts by the BJP to weaken the party. However, the BJP is still committed to taking legal action against everyone connected to corruption scandals, including opposition party leaders.
