Ahead of a challenging ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 campaign, the players and officials of the Indian cricket team decided to unwind with a getaway trip to Rottnest Island in Perth, an initiative organised by Tourism Australia.

Plagued by injuries to pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Deepak Chahar, India head into the T20 World Cup 2022 with the challenge of deciding their replacement in the playing XI. The short trip is expected to help the team unwind and acclimatise to the Australian conditions.

The team set off for an island adventure in Rottnest Island in Perth, Western Australia. The Men in Blue let loose with a friendly game of lawn bowls, a round of beach volleyball, and a meet and greet with the island’s littlest celebrities, the quokkas.

India begin their T20 World Cup campaign on October 23 in a high-octane match against arch-rivals Pakistan. The two teams recently met twice during the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with either side winning one match each. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team arrived in Australia last week and have already begun training in Perth.
