The objective of Free Bet Blackjack is the same as it is for any other Blackjack game: beat the dealer without going over 21. What exactly is Free Bet Blackjack?

An ante is a wager made at the start of a hand in traditional blackjack. If the player receives a pair, they can place a second bet of the same amount and split their pair into two hands. Players can also double down on their hand by placing an additional wager and receiving one more card. Free splits and double downs are included in the Free Bet Blackjack game. There are, however, a few significant limitations:

• Only hands totaling 9, 10, or 11 without an ace are eligible for a double down (e.g. 5-4, 6-4, 9-2). All other hands can be used to pay for regular double downs.
• All pairs except those with 10-value cards get free splits (e.g. J-J, 10-10). On these hands, the player receives multiple splits for free.
• An unrestricted free double down on a split. If the player splits 8-8 into two hands, for example, they will receive a free double down on one of the new hands.

There is another difference to be aware of. On 22, the dealer can go bankrupt. The player’s bet is pushed if the dealer hits 22 and they have a valid hand. If the player has blackjack and the dealer has blackjack, the player will be paid according to the standard rules. It’s a tie if the dealer and the player both have blackjack. In Free Bet Blackjack, the dealer will hit on 18 or higher. A soft 17 is also hit by the dealer. But keep in mind that the dealer benefits from a hit of 22. Blackjack Free Bet Rules

There are some blackjack free bet rules. There might be some changes in the blackjack rules. The blackjack free bet rules are the same as the rules of blackjack:

• There are six decks in total.
• Blackjacks pay 3 to 2 after splitting if the dealer hits a soft 17.
• Only two cards can be doubled.
• Up to four hands, including aces, can be re-split.
• There will be no surrender.

Keep in mind

• In order to be paid, all remaining hands must beat the dealer if the dealer has or draws between 17 and 21.
• All winning bets will be paid out at one-to-one odds (1:1). Any wager that has the same card total as the dealer will be pushed.
• All winning “Free Bet” will be paid out in the same amount as the original bet.
• All remaining hands PUSH if the dealer draws to exactly 22.

“Free Doubles” on two-card totals of 9, 10, or 11 on hard totals. On all other two-card hands, regular doubles are still permitted. The player’s original wager is matched with a “free bet” button, and the player receives one additional card with a “free double.” At the end of the hand, if the hand ends in a tie, the player receives only his original wager back. Otherwise, if the player wins, he or she receives their original wager plus winnings equal to twice the original wager.

On all pairs except 10’s, “Free Splits” are available. A “free split” divides the player’s two cards into two one-card hands. The first hand places the player’s original wager, while the second hand places a “free bet” button. Each hand is played one at a time, and the player is entitled to a “free double” or “free split” on both hands. Each “free bet” button is replaced with real chips equal to the original wager for winning hands. When a player loses or ties a hand, the dealer returns the “free bet” button to the player.

Free bet options

Split

The player can split without making an additional wager if they are dealt a pair on the first two cards (except ten (10) value cards). The dealer will then deal the game normally after placing a special “Free Bet” button to the right of the original bet. Only one free split is permitted per hand; however, any additional qualifying splits must be wagered with the player’s own money.

Double

A hard nine (9), hard ten (10), or hard eleven (11) is required to receive the free double (11). Behind the bet, the “Free Bet” button will be used, and the game will be dealt as usual by the dealer. Any other two-card combination can be doubled, but the player must be willing to put his or her own money on the line.

Free Bet Blackjack vs Classic Blackjack

• The optimal Free Bet Blackjack strategy differs slightly from Classic Blackjack due to the player advantage.
• With so many free moves, the player is encouraged to pursue a more aggressive approach.
• Players can use the double down option more frequently. After all, it’s free.
• In Classic Blackjack, if the dealer shows a 10 or 11, for example, it is usually not a good idea to double down. You’ll have to pay for it, and you might not even win. It’s worth a shot in Free Bet Blackjack.

Tips and Tricks

• When playing Free Bet Blackjack, the most significant change in blackjack strategy is that you can double down for free on two-card hands worth nine, ten, or eleven. That’s against any up-card from the dealer.
• Except for fours when the dealer seems to have a five or six up-card, fives when a free double is available, and tens, you should try to split your pairs for free.
• Only double down with soft 16, 17, and 18 against a dealer’s six up-card when playing soft hands.
• Nonetheless, you must also pay to double down against a dealer’s six up-card if you take a free split and have soft 16 to soft 20.
