Lucknow Super Giants defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs in the 12th match of the IPL 2022. Lucknow defended 170 runs as they restricted Hyderabad to 157/9 in the second inning. 

Rahul Tripathi top-scored for Hyderabad – 44 in 30 balls with the help of five fours and a six. Nicholas Pooran took the match close with his 34 off 24 balls along with Washington Sundar (18 off 14). 

Avesh Khan was brilliant in the bowling department, picking four wickets in four overs while conceding just 24 runs. Krunal Pandya also got two crucial wickets – Aiden Markram and Rahul Tripathi – in the middle overs. 

Earlier, timely half-centuries from KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda got Super Giants to 169/7 in the first inning. Captain Rahul scored 68 in 50 balls while Hooda slammed 51 in 30 balls. Ayush Badoni made 19 to finish the inning. 

The duo was involved in an 87-run stand for the fourth wicket after losing three early wickets. Hooda was the aggressor among the two, as he scored 51 in 33 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes. 

For SRH, Washington Sundar, Romario Shepherd, and T Natarajan took two wickets each.
