Kolkata Knight Riders Beat Mumbai Indians By 5 Wickets

Playing his first match of the season, Pat Cummins played an absolute blinder of an innings to power Kolkata Knight Riders to a 5-wicket win against Mumbai Indians.

Chasing 162, KKR were at a point where they were 5 wickets down in 13.1 overs, still requiring 61 runs to win in 41 balls, and had just lost in-form Andre Russell. Venkatesh Iyer however held one end and scored 50 runs off 41 balls.

Out came Pat Cummins and slaughtered KKR bowlers as he smashed an unbeaten 56 runs off 15 balls, smacking 4 fours and 6 sixes to take KKR to their third win and top of the table.

Daniel Sams went for 35 runs in his last over as he was smacked for 4 sixes and 2 fours by Pat Cummins to finish the match.

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav helped Mumbai Indians reach a total of 161/4.

KKR bowlers bowled tightly and didn’t let KKR batters score easy runs for more than the first half of the innings. However, Suryakumar Yadav & Tilak Varma held the crease for Mumbai Indians and etched a partnership of 83 runs in 49 balls for the fourth wicket.

SKY scored 52 runs in 36 balls with 5 fours & 2 sixes while Varma scored 38* runs in 27 balls including 3 fours & 2 sixes. Pollard also smacked 22 runs off 5 balls in the last over to take the total across 150.
