Rahul Tewatia played one of the best cameos of IPL as he took Gujarat Titans to a six-wicket win over Punjab Kings in a last-ball thriller.
After Shubman Gill anchored his way to 96 runs in 59 balls, things looked bleak for GT when the star opener was dismissed in the 19th over. Things got down to a point where GT required 12 runs off the last two balls, and Tewatia, who had played just one delivery earlier, smacked two sixes off Odean Smith to seal the improbable win for Gujarat Titans.
For PBKS, Kagiso Rabada picked up 2 wickets while Rahul Chahar picked up 1.
Earlier, Liam Livingstone carried his good form as he smacked another fifty to take Punjab Kings to a total of 189/9.
Livingstone came onto bat after Punjab Kings lost their second wicket in the form of Jonny Bairstow on a score of 34 in the 5th over, and smacked 64 runs off just 27 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes.
The all-rounder was dismissed by Rashid Khan in the 16th over. PBKS collapsed but Rahul Chahar provided excellent finishing with an unbeaten 22* runs off 14 balls to take the team total close to 190.
For Gujarat Titans, Rashid Khan remained the top wicket-taker with 3 wickets to his name. Debutant Darshan Nalkande picked up 2 wickets while Mohammad Shami, Hardik Pandya & Lockie Ferguson managed 1 wicket each.
