Rakesh’s all-round show helped Gujarat Giants outclass Telugu Titans 40-22 in Match 48 of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 8.

Telegu had already started on the back foot as they missed seasoned raiders Rohit Kumar and Siddharth Desai and didn’t have defender Sandeep Kandola in the starting 7 with young Muhammed Shihas taking his place.

Gujarat’s Rakesh produced the first Super Raid of the match in the 8th minute of the first half to initiate their attempt for an ALL OUT. The Giants finally got it with eight minutes remaining for the interval to open a seven-point lead.

Titans’ Rajnish kept picking valuable raid points, but his team failed to support him in defence. Gujarat’s standout performer this season, Rakesh, pulled off another three-point Super Raid. He picked up his Super 10 as Gujarat ended the first half on top with the score reading 20-13. 

Rakesh and Mahendra Rajput continued getting raid points as the game was played at a slow pace in the second half. Rajnish clinched his Super 10 as Titans sensed a potential comeback but Giants’ Rathan K. clinched a Super Tackle and a raid point to push Telegu back. Gujarat kept closing all doors for a Titans comeback with Parvesh Bhainswal also clinching a Super Tackle with a well-timed dash on Ankit Beniwal.

Giants had an 11-point lead with five minutes remaining and they carried that momentum to inflict another ALL OUT in the final minutes to close the game with an 18-point lead and seal their second win of the season. Telegu Titans are yet to register their first win of the season.
